Disposal Methods
Follow these six steps if you are unable to bring your medication to a substation for disposal.
- Collect all expired or unused medications.
- Add liquid medications.
- Add an absorbent product (kitty litter, coffee grounds, etc.).
- Dump all solid medications into a sealable plastic bag.
- Seal or tape bag shut.
- Place sealed bag in trash.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Substation
You can now dispose of your expired medicines at a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Substation. Disposal is anonymous and drop-off boxes are located inside substations, providing a secure method for disposal.
Walgreens
You can also dispose of your unwanted, unused or expired prescriptions, including controlled substances and over-the-counter medications, at no cost using the safe medication disposal receptacles at Walgreens.
