All too often Black women face insurmountable and suffocating cultural and social stigma attached to behavioral health.
Barriers to the redemption of recovery hide in plain sight: Black women are strong, Black women are resistant, Black women are invincible. Is long term sustainable recovery from substance use and process disorders accessible, available and acceptable in the nuance of Black experience?
Are we creating and supporting pathways for Black women in recovery that promote leadership, visibility, and purpose to change the narrative and hold meaningful space for healing and recreation?
